Pack your bags for Miami and get ready for another trip to the south next January.

That's right, FuhQ2 is predicting another national championship game. Why? James Laurinaitis is back for his senior season!
After the national championship game, many expected James, Malcolm Jenkins, Vernon Gholston and maybe some others to go pro. What has resulted is simply Gholston going pro and the hopes of another championship rise.

Laurinaitis believes he can still improve as a collegiate player and cites that as his reason for returning. Another might be that his family doesn't need the money.

Ohio State plans to return 20 of 22 starters, 22 of 24 if you consider the kicker and punter.

So they can lose again by three scores? I'm starting to think that maybe Ohio State should be banned from championship games for a few years. Why would an OSU fan possibly get excited about the probability of their team repeating a feat that has done nothing but embarrass them on national television? As far as being embarrassed, that's just your impression. No one I know is embarrassed. We are proud to be the 2nd best team in the land for the 2nd straight year. We have done better than any other team the past two years (23-3). It would have been great to win those title games, but it was still two great years of Big Ten Titles and Michigan wins.

Oh and lose by three scores? 38-24 sounds like two scores to me. You may have SEC speed, but at least we have Big Ten intelligence. Posted 01/15/2008 08:39 AMReply

You're both right; the disappointing (and embarrassing in 2007) losses in the NC game have overshadowed that OSU has been the second best football team in the NCAA for two years running. That kind of consistency is to be respected. I would not be expecting a trip to Miami, though, if I were OSU.
