Christian Bale Filming "Public Enemies" at Capitol
Christian Bale is in Madison this weekend shooting scenes for "Public Enemies," also starring Johnny Depp, according to the Cap Times.  Bale plays FBI agent Melvin Purvis, who is trying to apprehend notorious 1930s criminals John Dillinger (Depp), Baby Face Nelson (Stephen Graham), and Pretty Boy Floyd (Channing Tatum).

The film is directed by four time Oscar nominee and UW Alumnus Michael Mann, best known for directing "Miami Vice," "The Aviator," "Collateral" and "Ali."  He has also written and produced several of his films.  Mann adapted the screenplay from Bryan Burrough's book "Public Enemies: America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933-43."

The shooting began inside the capitol Friday and moves outside the capitol Sunday and Monday.  According to the Cap Times the public most likely will be able to watch the outside filming, because there will be a perimeter set up around the capitol that people could stand behind to catch all the action.

Most likely that means watching the production crew moving equipment around for most of the day.  But if that floats your boat, get to it.
