Maryland Madness '08, Gymkana is on fire

After last Friday's Maryland Madness, the 2008-2009 NCAA basketball season is officially underway. If you've ever been to Maryland Madness before, you know the routine - everybody get's their fifteen minutes, there's a little song, a little dance (which was weak this year boys), Gary Williams comes out in some sweet motor vehicle, and a little bit of basketball actually. But you know what, there's plenty of time to talk about basketball, right now, I'd like to talk about what's really hot.

Gymkana that is. These ladies and gentlemen get heart rates rising like no other group or team on campus and how do they do it? Controlled chaos - which includes jumping over people, flipping in the air, and flying over and under flaming hoops. In case you can't tell from that unworthy description, they're awesome. Their demonstration is acrobatic, dynamic, exciting and on top of all that, there is always the chance lingering in the air that someone might be lit on fire.

Exhibit A:

To sum this up, I quote a certain William Wonka:

"The suspense is terrible! I hope it'll last."

Well done Gymkana, keep up the good work.
