This thing plays porn, right?

Not all movie theaters are created equal. If you're sick of shelling out ten bucks to check out new movies, check out the fine selection of films coming to a theater very near you... Isla Vista Theater, in fact.

Magic Lantern Films, named after the subversive '60s theatre shut down and square-ified far before our time, buys up movies and shows them several months after they come out for a mere $3 or $4. Their fall line up includes all the summer blockbusters you missed while you were blacked out at the beach: Live Free or Die Hard, Superbad, and many more.

Plus you don't have to drive downtown, making it that much simpler to enjoy each showing on the drug of your choice. Some films, like Beerfest shown last spring, practically require you to drink along with the characters--and that isn’t discouraged at Magic Lantern. As long as you show a minimum of discretion, you can usually sip on booze in your seat unmolested.

Enjoy this distinctly college film experience while you can. Freedom like this usually costs a lot more than five bucks.
