St. John's University will give a 50 percent tuition discount on graduate school programs (except law school) for any alumnus who has lost his or her job within the past six months. Additionally, St. John's will wave the normal application fee for qualifying applicants.

The discount will go into effect for any alumnus who enrolls for spring or summer 2009 and will last two years.

St. John's will also be holding workshops for alumni who want to update their resumes, practice interview skills or are looking to change their career.

With any luck, colleges across the nation (*cough* UNC?) will follow St. John's lead in looking after their alumni.
