The U.S. State Department Rocks: Harvard Grad To Study Music Abroad
James Collins '07 has rockin' post-grad plans.

This VES concentrator received a Fulbright-mtvU Fellowship to "study one aspect of international musical culture."

Ex-Pres of the HRO, Collins plans to travel to South Africa, where he will document the effect of marching band music on youth culture. Obscure? Hell yes. But awesome too.

Collins was chosen by (so-called) musical icons Fiona Apple, The Shins' James Mercer, and Satellite Party's Perry Farrell in conjunction with a Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

Why Bono wasn't asked to judge potential applicants remains a mystery.
