USG is more annoying than Facebook applications. It's likely you have received more group-event invites to vote for ______/_______ than you have to play Oregon Trail or to pass the US Citizenship test. It's becoming a bother.

USG, the student government that naively believes it has power to change things, has elections coming up on April 10th and 11th. For about 1% of the OSU population, this is a big deal. For the other 99%, it just means having to say no to more than just the bums on High St.

The biggest vote coming up is Issue 4. Some hippies really hate the business practices of Coca-Cola. Citing things like child labor and a revolt in Columbia, blah blah blah blah. What effect will this have on the student? Probably none. Coca-Cola would still be supplied, it just might cost more. And an even better question: Is Pepsi any better? Pepsi faces some of the same criticisms that Coca-Cola does.

The bottom line is: Who gives a **** about USG? There has been more effective high school governments.
