UW Calls Mass E-Mails "Success," Students Call Them "Joke"
According to several media reports, the most recent killer scare and subsequent e-mails sent to students by the UW was a smashing success.  Let's see if we can break down these messages, shall we?
  • 6:06 p.m. Students are alerted that there is a "suicidal man who claims to have a gun" and told to stay away from the area surrounding the hospital.
  • 8:25 p.m. Police are still on the hunt for the suspect and warn students, "If you are currently on campus studying or attending a campus activity, please stay indoors."
  • 11:34 p.m. Without finding Miller, the Police come to the conclusion that he somehow "is a danger to himself, but not to members of the UW-Madison campus community. Police believe that Tuesday's incidents reflect a cry for help."  Class and work is to resume the next morning.
So three hours after telling all students to stay indoors, the police decide that, since they haven't found him, he must no longer be a danger to the community?

And this is a success?
