There was an interesting article in the Daily Cardinal today about Knetwit.com, a site conceived by a couple of Babson College frat bros which actually seems to be kind of a brilliant new idea. The site is a bit like Facebook, but with more emphasis on being a marketplace, and more of an emphasis on cheating at school. Just kidding. Sort of.
The site allows users to take notes, upload them to the site, then have other students contact them to buy their notes off of them. The site is meant to encourage kids to note-take for cash, but here’s what I think will really happen: Girl who sits in the front row makes a boatload of cash by posting her perfectly organized notes every week, and everyone else stops coming to class because they know they can rely on her.
Or you know, it could be what they say and everyone will start note-taking to try and outdo each other to have theirs be the most sought after copy. But I doubt it. Any way you cut it, this is quite the novel idea, and it’ll be interesting to see if it’s a success at Wisco.
