College gyms are one of the world’s most intimidating places. With three pound Lycra-clad ladies hitting the elliptical and Abercrombie male models pumping iron, it’s no wonder most students are horrified of going to the gym. Thankfully, scientists are finally developing a pill to make everyone beach ready.
Scientists have been experimenting on lab mice using Aicar - a drug that increases endurance without having to spend hours at the gym. The mice were given two types of drugs to compare and contrast. The first drug, GW1516, increased endurance in active mice but not sedentary mice, Aicar boosted both the active and inactive mice making the mice run 23% faster and 44% longer.
The miracle drug has yet to be tested on humans but it is thought to be a great medical discovery. Aicar still has a long way to go as its health side effects and benefits have yet to be tested but scientists expect this to be the next wonder drug.
Keep your fingers crossed and maybe this exercise-less elixir will be on the market by Spring Break!
