Lessons for Freshmen: Why to Live in a Single
One of the biggest decisions Vandy freshmen make before arriving at Vanderbilt in the fall is whether they want to live in a single or double their freshman year.

I loved living in Kissam my freshman year, but only now, after spending this summer in an apartment with three other people did I realize how wonderful living without a roommate was.

Now, my three roommates are all Vanderbilt students (well, as of now). And I absolutely love two of them. And at one time I even loved the third one, but the danger with having roommates is, as I've found out this summer, they can turn out to be absolutely bat shit crazy, no matter how well you think you know them before you live with them.

The bat shit crazy roommate requested to live in Branscomb last year, so think of it this way--my roommate who brought homeless people back to our apartment every night for a month could have been your roommate freshman year.

The point is--live in a single or take the risk of living with a bat shit crazy nutcase.
