Rites of Spring: Oooooookay

Crunk may not be, Lil Jon, but your fan base sure is.

Let's be honest, Rites of Spring was kind of disappointing this year.

Friday night's Cupid, Colbie Caillat, and Spoon were quite literally dampened by the monsoon-esque rain.

Saturday night's slightly less miserable weather proved promising for Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Old Crow Medicine Show, Feist, and Lil Jon. Admittedly, I pregamed through Grace Potter and can't offer any sort of opinion on her performance. Both Old Crow & Feist were great--they played the favorites and some new songs and were all around awesome performers.

Lil Jon took the stage 15 minutes late (out of his 45 minute set) and proceeded to wow the audience with renditions of popular rap songs (This Is Why I'm Hot, Party Like a Rockstar) that were not his. He finished out his set at exactly the time scheduled with a recording of Sweet Home Alabama playing in the background while Lil Jon repeatedly screamed "Yeah", "What" and "Okay" into the crowd. Other than commending "all these fine young females" for "staying in school, yo," his performance didn't offer much except for my entertainment that while Googling for an appropriately crunk picture of L.J, I found that he actually has a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the biggest bling. Seriously. Read for yourself.

As Lil Jon himself would say, Happy Holidays, everyone. Yeeeeeeeeeeeahhh!
