A Vanderbilt sophomore was sent to the emergency room after being trampled at the Vanderbilt Gold Rush pep rally.

Well, maybe trampled is a bit of an exaggeration, but nonetheless, the Vanderbilt student spent a night in the ER. Poor kid missed the festivities of the first Friday of the school year - and lost a toenail in the crazed stampede.

The lesson?  Wear closed-toe shoes if you are going to join in a herd of Vandy kids.
