Tufts Dormitory a "Hotel?"
Scripps News published an article today comparing the state of housing at several universities. Supposedly schools are shelling out millions to impress parents and to make the students feel as if they are living in a dorm comparable to a hotel. From the article:
"Fast-forward to the new $22 million dormitory at Tufts University, offering suites with two large singles off a sun-lit living room. Each suite has a dining room with a glass table and a kitchen with a dishwasher. 'This is like going from Amerisuites to the Ritz-Carlton,' one Tufts senior told The Boston Globe last month. Get it? The dorm is a hotel, and it just got way nicer."
Who is comparing any dorm here to the Ritz-Carlton? Sure, Sophia Gordon and Stratton are fairly nice, but nothing is that nice. The only thing that can be compared is the Medford Square Hyatt; too bad no one is living there, that would have really impressed those parents.
