Vanderbilt Invests In Students, Offers One Rental Car Per 1305 Undergrads
"But mom said we have to SHARE the car!"

According to today's Hustler, Vanderbilt is taking steps to ease the lives of undergraduates without cars on campus next year. Vanderbilt is utilizing the self-service access car rental ZipCar in order to bring vehicles to students who do not have them to alleviate issues of shady public transportation, mooching off friends, and constant lack of parking space.

How many cars is Vanderbilt providing for the 6,532 undergraduates it proudly hosts?
5.

Thats right. FIVE. That amounts to one car per 1306 students.

Let's do the math here. We'll assume that half of undergraduates have cars. That leaves 3266 students who may at some point want cars. If said cars are available 24 hours, and a Vanderbilt school year has approximately 180 days, each car-less individual will be allotted 1.32 hours of rental car time per school year.

Gee, Vandy. Thanks for your generosity. Oh, wait. The cars can only be accessed for a fee.
