Websites Taking Laziness To New Levels

Websites Taking Laziness To New Levels

When I was a freshman, 2 of my male friends tried to start a garbage disposal business. For a certain amount per week or per semester, they would take out your garbage if you left it on the hall on a particular weekday. The prices were super cheap--something like $5 per week, and our lazy lazy friends seemed interested. Unfortunately, Vandy admin foiled the plan and made them dismantle the service (run via Facebook) because it supposedly interfered with Vanderbilt housekeeping.Boo.

The idea, however, got me thinking. I ran across this article the other day. New websites such as AskSunday  are charging as little as $19 per month for customers to outsource simple yet annoying  errands, such as answering emails, setting up appointments, booking trips, ordering gifts for your girlfriend and bidding for you on Ebay to virtual personal assistants. Sites such as ELance let you bid on a freelancer to do such petty work for you. The article claims that the money you will save by saving time far outweighs the money you spend on the service.

"When you look at something as simple as scheduling an appointment, it can take as many as four to five calls or e-mails," says one of AskSunday's fans. "These things always add up to about eight hours, or a day's work."

What do YOU think? Would you ever pay for people to run your E-errands?

Yes! Sign me up.

No! Lazy mofos.

I vote yes only because I want to be one of the people getting paid to do easy, basic sh*t for lazy people. Posted 06/30/2008 3:14 PMReply
