Next to Kazakhstan, Berkeley might be the most undriveable place on the planet.

But Berkeley city officials are about to do something sacrilegious, if not just ironic. Parts of West Berkeley may be turned into car dealership lots, allowing current dealerships to expand territory and revenue.

Apparently Berkeley’s War Against Cars, with its road blocks on every street and hippies armed with rotting fruit grenades, is taking a backseat to commerce.

Looks like the right wing forces of gasoline might win.
