Like College Sports? Neither Does Comcast
"What do we want? Fifty-five games of women's basketball! When do we want it? Wait, that's really what we want?"

I just got a very exuberant e-mail from our Athletic Department about the upcoming launch of the Big Ten Network. Apparently it's a channel devoted entirely to Big Ten sports and among the broadcasts we'll get 35+ football games, 105+ men's basketball games and 55+ women's basketball games throughout the year. Sound good? Well from my title you may guess something's amiss.

Though the network has deals with AT&T and DirecTV, everyone's favorite monopoly, Comcast, hasn't agreed to carry the channel because of breakdowns in negotiations. By this point I've accepted being enslaved by Comcast (as has most of Ann Arbor it seems), mainly because DirecTV sucks ass, and who the hell knew AT&T had cable? But with this news about lack of sports coverage I may have to think about...wait. Oh, all the important football games are going to be on real networks? Oh, and the basketball games? Oh, and there's no hockey coverage? Wait, then I really don't care about this at all.
