So, I don't know, I was doing a little historical perusing through the 1917 yearbook (don't ask) and I came across a page about the Song Contest, some long gone campus tradition. Skimmed a little more and noticed who the winner of the contest was, the one and only Edna St. Vincent Millay. Lyrics to the song include such gems as:
We see in the “Times”
That pickled limes
Are Vassar’s delight
And at the fall of the night
To see the seniors weeding the begonias in the circle
is a beautiful sight
uh huh, nice use of meter and rhyme, and, uh, content.
She has got one thing going for her, though, (EVEN THOUGH SHE'S GINGER), she is the prettiest girl on her page in the yearbook. To be fair though, that isn't a huge feat. Class of '17 was a bunch of Frida Kahlos.
