John Edwards Kicks Off Campaign at Professor's Martha's Vineyard Home
After President Bacow added his name this summer to the list of people supporting candidates that will never live in the White House, another Tufts professor is backing a losing horse (known as "John Edwards" to the rest of us).

According to the Martha's Vineyard Times, the Edwards campaign (and the candidate himself) will arrive on the island for a fancy soirée this Friday at the home of Tufts medical professor Maureen Strafford. Price tag for the event: $50, same amount as a Clinton event on the other side of the island. Considering the fact that John Edwards can't seem to catch up with Clinton and Obama, you'd think they would offer tickets at a discounted rate.

"The $50 tickets are an apparent effort by two of the candidates to be more accessible to less affluent Vineyarders," wrote Susan Vaughn of the Times.

Are there even any poor people "less affluent" people on the Vineyard? Well, at least Edwards will have the wealthy East Coast intelligentsia half of his "Two Americas" covered.
