UCLA Daily Bruin Uncovers the Unapathetic

UCLA Daily Bruin Uncovers the Unapathetic

The Daily Bruin published a massive project  called "UConnect: Elections 2008" today in print and online. The project included interviews and studies of the college generation and their thoughts on the upcoming election.

Reporters went to all the UC campuses and interviewed random students about election issues that are most important to them. They included quotes and audio slide shows on each person.

The entirety of the report is evidence against the misconception that ours is the apathetic generation and that students are generally interested in the issues of the broader perspective.

Obviously, some of these students need workshops in public speaking and perhaps should pick up the newspaper more often. But it was enlightening to hear/see those few passionate students.

There were a lot of recurrent themes on the lament of the current economic situation and the desire of Obama for president that really united all the UCs, regardless of long-standing sibling rivalry.
