The cussing, the inappropriate gyrating and the obscene gestures are soon to be eradicated from the University of Virginia's sporting events... well kinda.
All signs have been banned at any sporting events at the university and students are furious. All their time and effort put into ridiculing the opposing team has just been thoughtlessly disposed of. Students have now been left with extra paint, poster boards and for the creative - glitter.
That's right -- the fun of taunting and heckling the opposing team is slowly being sucked out of the games.
The Charlottesville school, whose students are often called the Wahoos or Hoos, has banned all signs at home games. The new athletic department policy was tucked into an e-mail to students Tuesday: "Beginning this year, signs are not permitted inside athletics facilities. Thank you for your cooperation."
So UVA students – start putting the leftover paint and glitter to use by splattering it all over your beer bellies. Way more creative and much funnier to watch.
