We love when a random lanky dude that looks like he should be conducting chemistry experiments, takes one of Kanye West's songs, specifically "Flashing Lights," and makes it his own with "I Want Those Flashing Lights."

Colin is an import via the Canadian border. He told his parents that he was off to study philosophy and film in Toronto -- instead, he was rubbing elbows with the retro hip-hop crowd. Needless to say, he hasn't yet produced a bachelor's degree, but he has written his whole LP on his own. Most musicians who have created 10 albums have not actually penned all of the songs themselves.

His music is sprinkled with neurotic irony and a diluted optimism, making it a lot more human than the usual pop record. This is an import we will all enjoy.
