Wesleyan's Beloved O'Rourke's Diner Celebrated on Food Network

Wesleyan's beloved local Middletownian diner, O'Rourke's was featured on the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." The episode highlighted some of owner and chef Brian O'Rourke's adored specials, including his melody of hashes, banana french toast and steamed cheeseburger. O'Rourke even demonstrates the intricate process of creating New England's legendary "steamed cheeseburger." The episode is joined by Wesleyan's own professors: Professor Wagoner and Professor Commenting.

After a devastating fire in August 2006, O'Rourke's reopened due to the outpouring of support by locals, Wesleyanites and worldwide fans. The dinergoers raised the $300,000 necessary to rebuild the diner, which reopened in February 2008.

So if you have yet to venture to Main Street and eat at O'Rourke's get going but in the mean time this video clip will get you salivating.
