After the depressing loss to un-ranked ECU during the opening game of the season, Virginia Tech's head coach, Frank Beamer, has decided to no longer redshirt sophomore quarterback, Tyrod Taylor. The original plan for this season was to have starting quarterback, Sean Glennon, hold the position for his last season so that Taylor would not be penalized a year of eligibility to play. But after Saturday's performance, Coach Beamer thought it would be in the team's best interest to go with the two-quarterback system like the previous year.
Taylor is much more mobile than Glennon, which is beneficial to the inexperienced team's running game. Coach Beamer has yet to reveal which quarterback will be starting this coming Saturday at Tech's first home game nor has he mentioned anything about how the two players will be utilized in the same position. Tech will be playing Furman at 1:30 PM EST, so be sure to watch how the new team develops with two quarterbacks instead of one.
So is there still hope for Tech's football team? Sure hope so. Otherwise, what the hell are we fighting for?
