The fallen star, Elizabeth Berkley, has plans of giving successful television another go, as her Bravo show, Step It Up And Dance, made audiences want to lie down and sleep. Berkley will appear on several episodes of The L Word, as Bette’s (Jennifer Beale) straight Yale college friend.

Although Berkley is married (to an incredibly attractive man), it’s always a risqué choice to play a character of a different sexual orientation on television. Audiences tend to hold characters' sexual orientations very near and dear to their hearts and always see an actor as who they portray. Will Truman from Will & Grace, need I say more?

Although Berkley will be playing a straight character on the show, all descriptions of her character have read something like this – “the one that got away.” It sounds like the writers of The L Word are trying to keep their audiences on the edge of their seats with hopes of seeing some possible Berkley/Beale lesbian action.

The Showtime hit will enter its sixth final season in early 2009 with speculations about an online edition continuing after the show’s TV ending. For more info on the new season, check out Showtime.com.
