Three things:
Library Book Sale
Get your book on with the Providence Public Library Book Sale today at the Providence Central Branch on Empire Street. If you missed the first day of the sale yesterday (with a $15 cover, sha!) then today is your day to get reasonably priced books that you'll never find anywhere else. Plus, your purchase supports the public libraries in Rhode Island, and lord knows, the library needs our help. If you are a crafter, here's a great opportunity to get books to dissect without feeling so bad about it (I mean, they've already been well loved, right?)
AIDS Quilt
Check out the AIDS quilt on display in the former RISD Works building on Westminster Street today and tomorrow. It's across the street from the RISD library, right at the corner of Westminster and Memorial. If you are walking, continue up Westminster to hit the library sale mentioned above. The quilt was started in 1987 and now weighs an impressive 54 pounds. Crazy, man.
Van Wafels
Get your Dutch on with some Van Wafels. The Wafel brothers will be selling their Dutch-inspired 'stroopwafel' cookies on the Main Green from now until 3 pm. Don't miss out on this fantastic treat!
