Fans of Late Night, rejoice! NBC announced yesterday that Conan O’Brien will be officially taking over for Emerson College alumnus Jay Leno on June 1st, 2009.
For those ignorant to Conan's sheer brilliance, OTR presents 5 of his best skits ever.
1. Walker Texas Ranger Lever: After NBC merged with Universal, Conan premiered a lever that when pulled played random clips from Chuck Norris’ hit(?) 90s television show.
2. Triumph the Insult Comic Dog: The loveable, yet insulting hand puppet hit the premiere of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and much hilarity ensued.
3. Conan Interviews Steve Irwin: The late Crocodile Hunter was a charismatic ball of energy. Mix in Conan’s usual antics and you have comedic gold.
4. Conan Plays Rock Band: During the days of the writer’s strike, Conan improvised a lot of his sketches. In this one, he plays off the popularity of EA’s music rhythm game, Rock Band.
5. Conan Vs. Stephen Colbert Vs. Jon Stewart: During the writer’s strike, these three comedy legends clashed over who “created” Mike Huckabee. In the end, the men came to blows in one epic battle.
