Someone from the blog Skanks in NYC has been saying mean things about Liskula Cohen online, things about her being old, desperate, and skanky. There are a few options to deal with mean blog comments.

1. You can not deal with them at all, and surround yourself with people that actually do care about you and don’t think you’re an old, desperate skank.

2. You can issue some kind of diplomatic statement about how some people will be childish, and it’s part of being one of the beautiful, not desperate, famous elite. Then go hang with other beautiful, not desperate, famous people to prove your point.

3. Or, you can do what Liskula Cohen is doing, i.e. throw a hissy fit over the inevitable result of fame and suing the wrong party, in Cohen's case, Google.

The New York Daily News reports:

A Vogue cover girl is suing Google in an attempt to unmask the blogger who trashed her as a "skank" and an "old hag."

…The defamation suit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, seeks a court order compelling Google and its Blogger.com service to identify whoever led the vicious Internet assault against Cohen.

Her lawyer Steven Wagner conceded it's not easy to identify bloggers who lob insults anonymously, as New York courts have generally declined to force them into the light.

"We think we have a case," he said. "This is libelous, it's defamatory and you shouldn't just get away with this."

On the site, Cohen is ridiculed as a desperate "fortysomething" who "may have been hot 10 years ago."

The Canadian cutie is actually 36, according to records.

"Desperation seeps from her soul, if she even has one," the site spews.

Waa, waa, waa. Yeah, it sucks being called old, but one hardly disproves assertions of desperation by desperately trying to claw down the one blogger in the world that even knew much of anything about Cohen before today.

All she is doing is proving the blogger right by persisting with this frivolous lawsuit. Is she that desperate for money and attention? Posted 01/11/2009 12:16 PMReply

Ignorant self-centered brat. It's like she thinks that because she's famous, nobody can have an opinion about her. "I looked in the mirror and saw my whole career going down the drain" Please, you had enough cash to get your skeleton face fixed, idiot. That spoiled stick-figure knows nothing about true agony. Hey, whydoncha sue me too, bitch? Posted 01/12/2009 5:49 PMReply

wow....To think that the people that read this blog are college educated... That is scary. Do all of your research, because you all sound ignorant. She is not suing Google for financial gain, there is no money involved... Secondly when you work as a model, getting stabbed in the face would be considered a bad thing. And even with surgery, she was probably out of work for a year. I know you people do not understand competition or the working world, but to not have any income for a year is crazy. Hence why most people only get two weeks of vacation a year. So do yourselves a favor and go back to the text books, learn how to get all of your facts straight so you don't come of as being so ignorant. Use your time well, not solely on trying to hurt others, its a damn shame. Posted 07/16/2009 1:22 PMReply

"Wa-wahhh! How dare anybody say anything about me that isn't flattering? I'm calling my lawyer and I'm suing this person for stating an opinion of me that I don't like."

Suck it up, Princess!!!

Once upon a time, there was such a thing as Free Speech in this country. People had the right to voice their opinions without thin skinned, ageing skanks like Liskula Cohen hiring a lawyer to get a pound of flesh. (which this scrawny skank could use)

It's not like the comments are slander or anything. This boney whore is past her prime in an industry that's so sleazy it makes a house of prostitution look like a nunnery. Calling a 36 year old model an "ageing whore" is like calling a politician a "lying sleazeball".

And if you can't say nasty things about people on the Internet, then (apart from free porn) what good is it?

Lee Baker of CMLP has commented on a number of other forums that Liskula Cohen is a self-centered, aging woman with an ax to grind and no case whatsoever. I looked up Lee Baker's credentials and it turns out he is only a second year law student. He is way out of his league spouting legal analysis when he is not even an attorney. This creep is from Toronto, but has the nerve to pontificate on U.S. law. Posted 10/03/2009 08:07 AMReply

Canadians are smarter than Americans especially when it comes to things like law and science. A 2nd year Canadian law student is equivalent if not superior in intellect to an American attorney. Further Canadians learn about many different systems of law where as American attorneys no nothing other than their own. Posted 10/07/2009 1:53 PMReply

Lee Baker is an openly gay man from the gay-friendly city of Toronto. I would have expected a more liberal, sympathetic approach to his "analysis" of this case, based on his sexual orientation. FYI, you used the word "no" incorrectly. I believe you meant "know." Posted 10/18/2009 6:30 PMReply

I first became acquainted with Lee Baker of CMLP when I read his posts about the Liskula Cohen case. Then I decided to do some investigation and found that he is an admittedly gay man, originally from Toronto. He has posted on numerous gay forums and is an active supporter of gay rights. This said, his criticism of the Liskula Cohen case and her right to "unmask" the blogger who defamed her seems at odds with his openly gay stance. Lee Baker is not an attorney and he is not a U.S. citizen. As a law student, he is unqualified to analyze either U.S. or Canadian lawsuits. This is the type of false analysis that misleads the general public. Lee Baker is a hypocrite and unqualified to analyze legal cases anywhere, especially on the internet.
