As recently reported, thousands of college graduates are flocking to the streets in search of jobs and apartments. Yesterday Apartments.com and CBcampus revealed the top ten best cities for college graduates.

If you’re headed to Philadelphia, Boston and New York, you’re in good standings when it comes to finding a job. Affording the rent? Not so much.

The average 1 bedroom apartment in NYC will set you back a whooping $1,520 a month. In Boston it will cost you $1,343.

Fortunately, it’s not too late to jump in on the What's Your FQ? Sweepstakes. Contestants have until midnight on May 4 to enter by taking the site's freedom quotitent quiz. One lucky winner will walk away with free rent for a year and $10,000 in cold, hard cash.

Based on info regarding entry- level job openings, rental prices for one-bedroom apartments and large resident populations of young adults in their early 20s, the study found the following cities to be the best places to start life.

Surprised DC isn't on their the way the government is hiring lately. A 1 bedroom in the DC area probably averages 1300, if not more.

The south would be cool if it were not for the red neck factor...NE is OK...Nothing is better than LA though. The Beach...The City...The Women all top shelf...Rent will set you back some coin though. My studio in the Valley is costing me $2,000/month.

Midwest is the way to go. Nice people, good paying jobs, affordable rent, great women (who actually have a brain and they can hold a converstaion, unlike out east or west). Mpls/St. Paul is where you should be going. If you don't mind the winters (if you do, I don't want you here complaing about it) then it's the perfect place to go.

Houston??

No way! Single guys heavily outnumber the single girls ,so unless you go for the "leftover" or "old maid" look, your out of luck.

The women their are not very approachable either. Its kind of odd. But this is coming from an LSU grad with sweet, approachable southern belles galore in Baton Rouge.

@ Anonymous: Yes, I am a judgmental douchebag, but Detroit is also the most dangerous city in the country:
http://money.aol.com/mortgage/dangerous-cities?photo=16

So I ask again, why would I want to live in Detroit if I have the choice to live in another city, one in which I would have less of a chance of being robbed or murdered?

I moved from Chicago to Boston, worst mistake ever. Boston is a dump, dirty, falling apart, old. The women are all crunchy granola tree-huggers who play field hockey, and all the people are rude. You pay $2000 for a sewer of an apartment with no bang for the buck to party with dorks who don't speak English and collect comic books. Go to Chicago. Clean, right by the lake, and great nightlife.

if you want a REAL city i would suggest moving to New York. Im sorry midwesterns but Chicago doesnt really compare and I know you could go on for days about how clean it is but enough is enough. Dont even get me started on the south please its full of red neck hicks or prissy little ignorant girls. New York is expensive but worth it. People are not always nice but hey people are real and honest. New York is where all the opportunities are and its where you make the real money so work hard and you will be able to keep up with new york's high society.

Clearly, you're not attending college nor are you a college grad. Otherwise you would have learned critical thinking skills and an appreciation of diversity. Your obviously bigoted views attest to this. So, why ARE you visiting this website?@ Anonymous: @ Anonymous:

Chi-Town is the shit. As stated before it's clean, relatively safe, and it's on Lake Michigan. Furthermore, it if you decide to shack up with someone and start a family there... the suburbs around that area, such as Evanston, are a great place to live. As far as the southeast... people need to relax. Virginia, the Carolinas, and Atlanta are hardly even "The South." You'd be a fool to move to Alabama, Mississippi, etc. The land is cheaper and the weather is nice... the girls are also good looking. If I didn't choose Chicago I would look out there.
