If you're underage, BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze) restuarants are a great way to have a drink away from the crowded house party or frat house, and they make it less awkward to go out with a mixed group of drinkers and non-drinkers. If you're of age, BYOB restaurants save you a lot of money and allow you to drink what you want when going out to eat.

Here are five restaurants, in both Evanston and Chicago, that not only have delicious food but also let you BYOB.

1. Cozy Noodles and Rice (Evanston) - You get a lot of Thai food for a very little price. Plus, the walls are covered with vintage lunch boxes, pez dispensers, and bobble heads which can serve as a conversation starter during awkward dates or at least something to look at during really awkward dates.
2. Olive Mountain (Evanston) - Olive Mountain offers delicious Middle Eastern food and plays frequent host to NU professors.
3. Hema's Kitchen (Chicago) - Hema's offers fresh Indian and Pakistani food. I wouldn't suggest driving there because parking is tough. Also, the restuarant isn't huge so don't bring your whole dorm.
4. Wholly Frijoles (Lincolnwood) - Despite having the worst name for a restuarant I've ever heard , Wholly Frijoles is serious about their Mexican food. It has a parking lot and is a perfect place for bringing a pitcher of margaritas.
5. Green Tea (Chicago) - This is a sushi restaurant I haven't gotten to check out yet but I'm putting it on the list since I've been told they have the best sushi in Chicago. The restuarant apparently has a mellow atmosphere and is tiny, holding just 17 customers. Again, don't bring the whole dorm, that's what Joy Yee's is for.
