Bill Clinton Makes His Case For First Lady ... err First Husband

As I wrote earlier today, I attended the Bill Clinton event last night, along with about 7,000 other people, so it's not like I'm special. Anyway, here's a little rundown of what went down, along with the links to some video and pictures of the evening.

At about 6:30 pm last night there was already a sizable amount of people making their way up Burrowes toward Rec Hall. Later I heard someone say they saw people in line at 4:30 (which ended up being 41/2 hours before Clinton showed up). When I finally got in line at 7:30, the line stretched from Rec Hall, down Burrowes past the IST building. Then across to Atheron, up to Curtin and finally into Rec Hall (here's a map)So a pretty sizable circle that we were in for about an hour in the steady drizzle (and most people didn't have umbrellas or raincoats.

At almost 8:30 (a half hour prior to Clinton's supposed arrival time) we finally made it to the front of Rec Hall. But as we got ready to climb the steps, a police officer stopped me saying, "hold right there." "Great! It's full and we can't get in," I figured. But instead the officer instructed us to go down the steps and onto the floor of Rec Hall. So, being late definitely had it's advantages as I ended up about 40 feet from the former President.

I won't go into the details of the speech, because really you probably don't care. And if you do, go read The Collegian or the CDT. Anyway, for more photos of the event, check them out here. And for video of Clinton dealing with an Obama heckler go here.

And I suggest you get to Old Main lawn really early on Sunday. Because they're expecting 3 times as many people to show.
