Tufts Students: Naked on The Web

Each year Tufts University holds a Naked Quad Run (NQR). During the event hundreds of Tufts students shed their cloths and run barebacked through the school’s quad.

The event sounds like the type of behavior that would be frowned upon by the administration and police; however, the opposite is true: the run’s encouraged. Police line the “runway” with barriers (to keep the non-nude out) and help those who slip to get back on their feet.

This year’s naked mile occurred much in the same way it has in the past: the kids came; they stripped; they ran; and they ate doughnuts at the end. While the whole thing seemed innocent, one creeper with a camera planned to change this. The unknown man snapped dozens of naked photos of the kids as they ran by (many of them full frontal). The pictures have since been posted up on Coccozella.com.

This is not the first instance where documentation of the run has been put on the web. In 2007 the run was posted on YouTube. What makes this instance particularly unique is the fact that many of the student’s faces are clearly visible.

So who feels sorry for the poor Tufts kids that are now fully exposed for the whole world to see? I’m not sure that I am. I’d think that anyone that’s willing to run naked in public would be comfortable enough with their bodies to be nonchalant about the whole thing.

If you don’t want people looking at your naked bodies, then keep your clothes on in public. Simple as that.

Someone taking pictures of publicly nude people?
ALERT THE INTERNET.
All the runers love the attention people give to them and their 'cute quirky fun activity!', but suddenly someone decides they'd like the memories to last and it's an insult? Damn, people act like this is some sacred rite of passage, instead of some stupid half-assed (or full-assed, I guess) attempt at tradition.

Who the hell is The Valkyrie? Why is this yet another repost on everything we already know about? Don't we have anything else interesting to post/talk about at TuftsOTR? Talk about beating the dead horse. Posted 06/13/2008 12:27 PMReply

This crap was covered months ago by a) people who were actually there b) when it actually happened and c) in a much funnier manner. This is bull.
