UCLA Inundated with Twilight Craze

The premiere for Twilight in Westwood caused quite an inconvenience for Bruins this past Monday.

Part of Broxton was closed off, not to mention there were hoards of crazed, rabid girls waiting for a glimpse of the new obsession.

Even on Sunday when I meandered down for a morning Starbucks, I saw prepubescent teen girls camping out to see Robert Pattinson and Kristin Stewart at the Monday night premiere. Some people don’t even camp out that long for UCLA basketball floor seats or the freakin’ Rose Parade.

The fans/stalkers were rewarded just before midnight on Sunday when director Catherine Hardwicke stopped by to offer support.

This Twilight craze is getting insane as actor/hottie Robert Pattinson, who plays the vampire heartthrob Edward in the film, said to US Magazine that girls have come up to him with bloody scratch marks on their neck saying, “We did this for you.”

Ew. They know he’s not a real vampire, right?
