Baylor Students Have A New Coffee Option... And It's Free

In today's Lariat a new coffee establishment had its own four-column, no-jump story (a feat in and of itself for the Baylor daily). The Jakarta Mud Hut offers free - yeah, free - coffee and tea to the college students of McLennan County. Sorry, but no Aggies or Longhorns, please. The Waco Outreach Foundation made this haven for caffeine addicts a dream come true, but unless they get more volunteers on staff their hours will stay Mon.-Fri. 5p.m. - 9p.m. Show the place some love, or get some volunteer hours (I'm pretty sure your fraternity/sorority philanthropy chair will let them count towards whatever)and give Waco a third student coffee hang out.

What it has over the Baylor Starbucks and Common Grounds:

1) It probably won't get as crowded as fast as Common Grounds
2) You won't have to smell Chili's Too like you do at the Baylor Starbucks
3) I'd put money down that it's a great study group spot, with the right amount of noise to feel homey, but not too loud where you can't get anything done.

P.S. They have free Wi-Fi, so bring your laptop, stay awhile and enjoy all the free coffee, tea and ho-cho you can stomach.
